The Hedges Gold Coast residential project at 272 Hedges Avenue in Mermaid Beach underwent a complete lift modernisation to reflect the building’s high end aesthetic and luxury status. The three passenger lifts required a full upgrade to match the quality and architectural sophistication of this landmark coastal development. This transformation was delivered through close collaboration between Kone Elevators, Custom Lift Interiors and Dewhurst New South Wales, each contributing to a seamless integration of advanced technology and refined design. Together, the teams created a modern lift experience that enhances both the function and the elegant character of the building.

Solutions

The project team delivered a modernised lift experience by combining advanced technology with carefully considered design. The Main Car Operating Panels were manufactured using 2.5 mm stainless steel and finished in Black Ace by Dulux, creating a sleek and refined appearance that aligned with the building’s luxury aesthetic.

At the centre of the upgrade was the integration of the Dewhurst US1 15.6 inch fully programmable Full HD touchscreen, protected with toughened glass for added durability. This was complemented by a modern and responsive interface featuring the Dewhurst C1L 10.4 inch LCD, the EN PAD keypad and US95 push buttons, all selected to provide clarity, reliability and ease of use.

To complete the transformation, the lift interiors were finished in stainless steel coated in Black Ace to maintain a clean and contemporary look. Custom faux leather wall panels reflecting the style of the lobby, along with satin brass tube handrails, added a warm and elegant touch. Together, these elements created a sophisticated lift environment that seamlessly blends technology with design.
