Royal Perth Hospital

Established in 1855, Royal Perth Hospital is Western Australia’s longest serving hospital and a major centre for medical research, patient care and clinical innovation. Across its extensive network of interconnected buildings, the hospital required a series of lift interior upgrades to improve durability, safety and user experience for patients, visitors and medical staff. Dewhurst delivered a full suite of new fixtures, finishes and signalling solutions that brighten the interiors, support clinical functionality and ensure long term performance within a demanding healthcare environment.

 

  • The hospital required durable lift interiors that could withstand high daily usage, frequent cleaning and strict hygiene requirement’s.

 

  • Existing fixtures needed to be upgraded to support modern clinical standards, including improved lighting for accurate colour assessment.

 

  • A consistent visual and functional design was needed across multiple buildings, each with different legacy lift conditions.

 

 

Solutions

Dewhurst provided a complete lift interior refurbishment across multiple buildings, introducing sky blue hard wearing laminate panels, robust bump rails and polished stainless steel handrails to improve durability and brighten the travel environment. New linished stainless steel ceilings were fitted with cyanosis corrected vandal resistant downlights, supporting clinical assessment by ensuring accurate colour visibility for patient symptoms.

To improve hygiene and usability, the new car operating panels were equipped with Dewhurst US95 anti bacterial, chemical resistant pushbuttons and Pixel 15.6 inch digital displays to provide modern and clear passenger information. Surface mounted landing indicator panels were upgraded with Pixel PI 56 full colour displays for improved messaging and position indication, while new landing operating panels were fitted with US95 anti bacterial buttons to ensure safe, clean and dependable operation.
